Wednesday, January 17: 

  • Attention Math Team Members:  Practice will be held after school today in room 245. If you have any questions, please see Miss Buck or Mrs. Briffett. Hope to see you there. 
  • Jazz Band will meet this afternoon. Honors Wind Ensemble will meet tomorrow.  
  • The Natick Park & Rec. Dept. Teen Center is running a free Yoga Clinic for middle and high school students on Monday, January 22 at the Cole Center from 3-4pm.
  • KMS Basketball Update:  The girls' team lost by 6 last night in a close game against Hopkinton. The offense was led by Allison with 8 points and Caite with 7 points. The defense was led by Kyra and Mikayla, both with several steals. Briar was outstanding on defense with several rebounds. The girls will take on Ashland on Thursday.  The boys' basketball team played hard but lost to a skilled Hopkinton team yesterday. Nick and Colin lead the scoring with 11 points each. The Cougars travel to Ashland tomorrow for a 3:45pm tip-off. 

Tuesday, January 16: 

  • Attention Math Team Members: Practice will be held after school on Wednesday in room 245. If you have any questions, please see Miss Buck or Mrs. Briffett. Hope to see you there!
  • James and the Giant Peach will rehearse as scheduled today and all cast members should plan on attending. Please see Mr. Lane with any questions. 
  • Kennedy has basketball games today at 3:45 vs Hopkinton. Come and cheer on the teams: Boys play at 3:45pm, Girls play at 4:$5pm. 
  • Photography Club is meeting today in the Computer Lab after school. 
  • 5th Grade Select Band will meet today after school. Jazz Band will meet tomorrow. 

Friday, January 12: 

  • Our "5 Days of Trivia" starts this morning. Today's question: "In February 2018, the winter Olympics will begin. What country is hosting the Olympics?" 
  • 5th Grade Select Band will meet on Tuesday after we return from the long weekend. 
  • The Girls Basketball Team took home their first victory of the season last night against Wellesley! Cait and Val led the offense with 8 points each. Katherine was also outstanding on offense scoring 4 points. The defense was led by Elli and Kyra Our next game is Tuesday at home against Hopkinton - come cheer us on!
  • The KMS Boys Basketball Team lost a tough game against a skilled Wellesley team, but they played some great team offense and defense. Jack led the scoring with 11 points, while Ryan played great defense and had a bunch of rebounds. Zach also played great defense with 2 blocks and 5 steals. Finally, Drew had some great defensive and hustle plays. The next game is Tuesday at home against Hopkinton. We hope to see you there.

Thursday, January 11: 

  • Robotics Club meets after school today. All are welcome.
  • Attention Math Team members:  Today is our third meet! If you are on the list as a competitor or an alternate, please meet after school in Miss buck's room. We will meet briefly as a team before boarding the bus. 
  • Show your love for the Pats and wear your Patriots gear this Friday on January 12th.
  • James and the Giant Peach will rehearse today as scheduled. All cast members should attend. Please see Mr. Lane with any questions. 
  • One of the Destination Imagination teams will be operating a Snack Shack that will be opened Mondays-Thursdays from 2:05-2:25 each day, starting this week. It will be located outside of the computer lab, room 200. We can only accept cash. The proceeds will be donated to water for South Sudan. 
  • Honors Wind Ensemble will meet today after school. 

Wednesday, January 10: 

  • The Teen Center at The Cole Center will be open today for students to drop in from 11:30-6:00. Lunch is not provided so students should bring their own food. 
  • Honors Wind Ensemble will meet tomorrow.
  • Show your love for the Pats and wear your Patriots gear this Friday on January 12th!

  • Attention Math Team members:   Practice will be held after school today in room 245. We will be practicing for our second meet this Thursday at Wilson. If you have any questions, please see Miss Buck or Mrs. Briffett. 
  • There will be an Interact Club meeting in Mrs. Meyers room after school today. All are welcome. 
  • The boy's basketball team lost in a tough game vs. a skilled Dedham team. Kyle led the scoring with 13 points, while Nick was a standout on defense. The next game will be at home against Wellesley this Thursday - we hope to see you there.  The girl's team lost y 4 in a tight game against Dedham yesterday. The offense was led by Val and Caite with outstanding defense from Kyra, Mikayla, and Paola. The girls will take on Wellesley this Thursday at 4:45 at KMS - come and cheer us on. 
  • There will be a student council meeting today after school in Ms. Lemon's room, #246.
  • James and the Giant Peach will rehearse today as scheduled. All cast members should attend. Please, see Mr. Lane with any questions. 
  • 5th Grade Select Band will meet today after school. 
  • Specialty Chorus will meet today as scheduled. Please see Mr. Grifin with conflicts. 
  • Reminder: Today is the last day for Jr. District Chorus permission slips to be turned in. Please see Mr. Griffin for questions or concerns.
  • The GSA will hold it's next meeting today right after school in room 219. This club is made to show support to those at Kennedy who are in the LGBTQ community. All are welcome!


Monday, January 8:
 

  • Attention Math Team members:   Practice will be held after school on Tuesday, not Wednesday, in room 245. We will be practicing for our third meet this Thursday at Wilson. If you have any questions, please see Miss Buck or Mrs. Briffett. Hope to see you there!

  • 5th Grade Select Band will meet tomorrow after school.

  • Math Team practice will be held after school today in room 245. We will be taking our placement test for our third meet next Thursday. Be sure to bring in your permission slips! They are due today.
  • Jazz Band will meet today after school. Honors Wind Ensemble will meet tomorrow. 
  • Art Club will be meeting this Thursday after school in the art room.  Sign up on Ms. Kassap's door. There are 10 spaces available.  


Tuesday, January 2:
 

  • Math Team practice will be held after school on Wednesday in room 245. We will be taking our placement test for our third meet next Thursday. Be sure to bring in your permission slips! They are due tomorrow. 
  • Today is the first rehearsal for James and the Giant Peach, Jr.  All cast members should plan to meet in the auditorium at 3:00pm. If you are not staying with a teacher for after school help, or have no other activities you should report to the auditorium directly after school for study hall.  If you did not pick up a script before vacation, they will be handed out during rehearsal. See Mr. Lane with any questions.
  • 5th Grade Select band will meet today after school. Jazz Band will meet tomorrow. 
  • Auditions are open for the KMS Honors Wind Ensemble. Please see Mr. Drapeau for details.  
  • Art Club will be meeting this Thursday after school in the art room. Sign up on Ms. Kassap's door There are 10 spaces available. 
  • KMS is very proud to announce the 2017-2018 Martin Luther King Essay Contest winner. This seventh-grade student will present her work and be awarded a $100 prize at the Community Celebration at Wilson Middle School on January 15th. This year's winner is Leah S. Congratulations!
