On Friday, May 12, 2023, the School Committee voted to appoint Dr. Bella Wong, as the Interim Superintendent for the 2023-24 school year.
Here's an excerpt from an email sent by the School Committee to NPS Staff announcing Dr. Wong's appointment:
We know that there is terrific work already underway in the district and leaders and staff wish to continue to make progress on that work even as we transition to new leadership. The School Committee is committed to supporting the district’s strategic plan and the important initiatives that are already underway. Dr. Wong’s knowledge of the budget process, as well as the School Committee’s commitment to ensuring financial support for the district, will be critical to supporting the work you do in our buildings and our classrooms every day.
Thank you to all individuals who provided feedback to the Task Force and to the entire School Committee throughout this process. We appreciate your input and look forward to supporting you throughout this next school year.
