A few words about Middle School Summer Reading…
Natick's middle school Language & Literacy teachers have selected required texts to provide rich literary experiences to keep students reading and growing during the summer months. It is critically important that students stay engaged during the summer months to help with the transition back to school next fall. The required titles will serve as a launch to learning for students in the fall and will offer teachers an opportunity to create learning experiences related to summer reading that will target key skills and standards as well as building classroom community. Teachers will plan discussions and assignments to complement these titles, so it will be important to read carefully and critically.
Students need to select one of the following texts to read, but if interested, students can certainly read more than one of the choices. Titles with a * have audiobooks available and links are provided on each page with information about how to sign up for library cards to access the books electronically for free. Books can also be purchased online from local bookstores.
In addition to the required text for the grade level, students should read at least two other books. Visit our School Library home pages (KMS / WMS ) or the local library or bookseller for recommendations!

The PTO is pleased to partner again with Wellesley Books for Summer Reading Books. The online bookstore links will be available from Friday, May 19 until Thursday, June 1st, where 20% will go to supporting the two schools’ PTOs. All books will be available at Wellesley Books after this for families to buy.

Families can specify on the website if they would like to purchase in-store; if so, they will receive a printable voucher that can be brought to Wellesley Books to contribute towards the PTO. The donation at Wellelsey Books is based on summer reading titles only.
