School Bus

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We are pleased to offer school bus transportation for the 2026-2027 school year. Registration for the 26-27 school year will begin Monday April 6, 2026 with a registration deadline of 6/30/2026. The transportation fee for the 26-27 school year is $250 per student with a family cap of $500.  (Please note the price increase for the bus fees set forth by the NPS School Committee)

To register your student, please fill out the online bus registration on the NPS Transportation website. If the 26-27 paper registration form is used, please mail the completed form to the Natick Public Schools Transportation Department at 13 E Central St, for processing. The postmark date will determine the registration date.

After the deadline date of June 30, 2026 bus route assignments will be processed on a first come first served basis until buses are full.

Please read BEFORE registering your students FAQs:

  • My student will receive free transportation due to free/reduced lunch or free mileage. Do I still need to apply?  Yes! If you are requesting a free bus pass due to receiving free/reduced lunch you must have completed and been approved for free/reduced lunch to qualify. You may also apply for Financial Assistance and if approved, will receive a free bus pass. If you are requesting a free bus pass due to mileage, please be advised that only students in K-6 who live 2.01 miles or more from their school will receive a free bus pass due to mileage. Please see our Eligible Street Listing

  • Does my student need a bus pass to ride the bus?  Yes! Any student who rides a yellow bus to school (beside METCO) needs to be registered for the bus. Bus passes are valid for a student's designated bus and late bus only

  • My family is new to Natick. When should I register for the bus? New Natick students must be registered for the bus within 2 weeks of school registration. If your student is not registered for the bus within the two weeks, the late fee will apply if after the 06/30 deadline

  • Are refunds given for bus passes? There will be no refunds given after bus passes are mailed out in early August unless you have moved out of Natick, overpaid or paid when you would have received a free bus pass

  • Please make sure when making a payment that your student is also registered for the busBoth steps must be complete for your student to be assigned a seat on a bus. If both steps are not complete by the deadline of 06/30, you will be responsible for the late fee.

  • All students, regardless of free bus status, will need to be registered (and payment made if applicable) for the bus prior to 06/30 to avoid the late fee. There will be no exceptions to the late fees

LATE FEES will apply to ALL REGISTRATIONS received after 6/30/2026:

Registered by:  06/30 -- NO LATE FEE

Registered from: 07/01-07/31 -- LATE FEE IS $100 per family*

Registered after: 07/31 --  LATE FEE IS $125 per family*

*An assessed late fee and second bus pass fees will not be included when determining the family cap of $500.  The $500 family cap is for transportation fees only

Free/Reduced lunch: If your child was approved for Free/Reduced lunch for the 25-26 school year, the transportation fee of $250 will be waived at the time of registration. However, if your child no longer qualifies for the Free/Reduced lunch benefit after the 26-27 applications are processed you will be required to pay the transportation fee of $250.

Free Mileage: Students in grades K-6 who reside 2.01 miles or more from their districted school are entitled to free transportation.  For your reference, the Eligible Rider Street Listing is available on the transportation page.  We do not offer one-way or partial year passes, or busing to students attending schools outside of their assigned school.
